This past weekend we took our usual trip to Apple hill to pick our pumpkins and to enjoy some shopping. I have been going to apple hill since I was a little girl and have passed the tradition onto my children. Every year I buy Emma a button doll which a lady sales in one of the booths, it has become a fun tradition for us. I think traditions are important for families to have, it is not only fun but also creates a bond between the family. I love the month of October because it's the month that seems the most fall-like and pumpkins are everywhere as well as the weather change. Oh how I love the weather change Fall brings...I am so sick of the Summer heat...so let the Fall weather begin! Anyway, I will try to blog more...I promise. =)

Slacking at Blogging
From the looks at my blog, it is apparent that I don't blog as much as I should. I thought I would have more time after I graduated college, but to be honest, i now have 2 kids to take care of instead of 1. I recently had my son Zachary Paul McClain on July 9th...one day before my 23rd birthday. He is such a handsome little guy and his sister loves him to pieces. Since the day he was born she loved him instantly. She never really had any issues dealing with the new family member, except for the occasional regression of wanting to act like a baby to get attention. That has past now and she is the best older sister we could ask for.

What has been going on with me:
Well, I recently got interested in knitting and am currently teaching myself how to knit, although at the moment my intended scarf looks more like a disheveled ball of knots. I know I will eventually get the hang of it (i hope). I have this wonderful vision of my kids wearing these beautiful hand knit clothes in which I made for them (please come true vision!) Anyway, other than knitting, I have been a stay at home mom and loving every minute of watching my children grow. I am thankful that God has blessed me to be able to be a stay at home mom to my kids for the time being. I have always thought i would be a teacher, but now that I am a mother...I can't see myself dropping my kids off at daycare 5 days a week to go to work. It is a blessing to be with Emma and Zack all day, everyday. =)

9 months pregnant

I haven't blogged since January, since I was so busy completing my last semester in college and taking care of my toddler, but I am now a Stay at home mom who has some spare time now. Today I am 36 weeks pregnant and so ready to be done. My stomach feels like it will pop any minute. I can't sleep at night...I probably only sleep a couple hours a night because my tummy is in so much pain. I have to admit that as my due date approaches, I find myself becoming more nervous about having 2 kids. I feel so terrified at times, wondering how will I get through it. I wonder how my 2 year old daughter will react to her new baby brother. She hugs my belly and says "baby Jake", so I know she understands a little bit about him. I know it will be a new fun and hectic experience, but I am so ready for it to begin. =)

First time blogging

I decided to give blogging a chance so family members and friends could keep up with what is going on in the McClain household. My daughter Emma is 19 months old and has surely stepped foot into the "terrible 2's" phase (lets just hope its a phase). It has been more difficult than usual, since my daughter has been so easy-going and well-behaved since birth, but I guess I should have known that wouldn't last forever. I feel so drained all the time since I am also pregnant with our second child. Between chasing around a rambunctious 1.5 year old and feeling the aches and pains of pregnancy, I would say I feel like a walking zombie half the time. Of course, I know this is only a phase in life that I will experience, so I have learned to enjoy every moment my toddler brings and to appreciate what motherhood is truly about.
